Is it working?

On Saturday, I wrote about Memorial Day being the one third pole for Major League Baseball, and so far, the Indians have responded. They have won 3 of 4 games since that day. Unfortunately, they only took the middle game of three in Cincinnati, but the Reds come to Cleveland in June, so maybe we can pay them back during that series. However, the Indians have taken the first two games of the four games series against the Rays. Monday night, I have to admit that I did not hear the final innings of the game on the account that I had to be up early on Tuesday for work, but the Indians came back in the ninth inning to score seven runs to win in dramatic fashion, 11 to 10. Ryan Garko hit two home runs and had five RBI, and Victor Martinez had the game winning two run single. Wow! Then last night, Carl Pavano pitched, what could possibly be his best game yet, and won his fifth game as the Tribe won 5 to 1. The Indians hit four home runs in the game, and showed signs of life all over the field. Tonight, the Indians go for their third win in a row as Zach Jackson is called up from AAA Columbus to go against the Rays at 7:05. Hopefully the Indians continue their hot streak!

I just visited one of my favorite stores, Barnes and Noble in Mansfield, and they had three football previews on their shelves, two professional and one collegiate. In the pro football issues, the writers have the Steelers as the second best team in the AFC behind the Patriots. What? Tom Brady is coming off injury, and sure they are stacked, as usual at all positions, but the Steelers are the defending champions. Right now, I am not very happy about those predictions, but last year, many magazines did not even the Steelers going to the playoffs let alone the Super Bowl. In the college football preview, the writers have Ohio State fifth in the preseason. The Buckeyes open on September 5th against the Naval Academy and the next week, the USC Trojans visit Columbus for a rematch. Hopefully this year, the Buckeyes give them more of a game than they did last year. One awesome stat that I read in the magazine...7 and 1...what is Jim Tressel's record against the Team from up North in his career at OSU! Read it and weap Michigan fans, and this year will be no different. Until next time...
